Flutterby...................

Oh how I love Mondays now this is the day Linda posts a new challenge for the Compendium of Curiosities from Tim Holtz book, if you haven't got it get it and join in it is so much fun. Thanks for all the lovely comments you all left last week, will pop over and see what you have all done as soon as I can.

Week 3# Alcohol Ink Monoprint
I love my Alcohol Inks and getting messy is right up my street;  Saying that I'm not very pleased with the results of this technique but had to run with this one, as I ran out of glossy card, note to self  - get some quickly . My inspiration seemed to leave me as I wasn't happy with results so  I have added purple, pink and clear gems for a bit of bling.  Page three of my book complete.

This is the one I preferred as there is more white showing and the inks are not so muddy, maybe it was my colour choice?

Inks used  Purple twilight, mountain rose, red pepper, willow, stamps Inkadinkado, shape cut Nestabilities labels, Gems from stash

Attempt number 2 same colours and stamps.

Birds of a Feather........

ALTERED BIRD FEEDER
It's that time again another month over and another altered item for Alter It Monthly,(AIM)  I'm really enjoying these challenges and they are certainly dragging me into the world of Altered Art; for that I thank you for a great challenge blog and for the lovely comments I have received.
Enough rambling and onto the piece I altered, I found an apple bird feeder there was a bar for apple to go on and cut out of the middle is the shape of a bird; it was  greatly reduced so I  immediately thought AIM; so it is safe to say I am addicted, lol; I don't think you can see the bird shape in photo - you may if you look hard, go on harder....... LOL.

Firstly I sanded the feeder to distress the edges and then painted with Ranger Acrylic paint dabber in lemonade and rubbed most of it off when nearly dry leaving the green paint(original colour) showing through
I cut some of my Tim Holtz papers for the roof and scalloped the edges.

Die cut cage and birds from Tim Holtz Alterations Die I cut the cage in  Grungepaper and card, birds in grungepaper.  The card cage was embossed in cuttlebug folder and inked with DI rusty hinge and shabby shutters, then glued to grungepaper die, beads from old bracelet.  Birds were inked with rusty hinge and shabby shutters one wing is TH papers and on the other one is TH Tissue tape, feathers in my stash.  Flowers were cut with Tattered Flower Die in Grungeboard and old book pages, inked with DI wild honey, spun sugar, rusty hinge and shabby shutters.

I stamped the words "Love Warms Every Nest" (creative expressions stamps) onto old book pages and inked with spiced marigold, they show up well in real life but not so well in photo, also Home Tweet Home across the top, the hook the cage is hanging from was in the roof to hang up for the birds.  I have this hanging in my conservatory and the breeze  is swinging the cage and the beads are jangling like a wind chime a lovely added bonus - I would say I meant this to be so...... but you'd all know I was kidding you.....

Hope you like my attempt for the challenge, I love how it has turned out

TRAVEL TAG

Another Tag........... Over at Sunday Stamper Hels challenge this week is to make some art and add something metal, so, I made another  tag!! I know I have made a lot lately, for those who are counting but I like tags, a lot; to be honest I got engrossed in the Tennis yesterday and suddenly realized I had to do something quick last night as this was the last time I could play and be sure to make the deadline.  My thoughts have been with holidays and travel with all this sunshine so travel seemed to fit. The metal plate was filled with Crystal Effects and the compass and postage stamp were stamped onto Kraft card and punched out..  This may find its way onto a card or may stay as a tag to add to my collection!
Stamps used Creative Expressions - Travel plate
Stampin' Up!Ink Rich Razzleberry and Soft Suede; Card Pretty in Pink and Kraft; also Ribbon and Metal Plate and Crystal Effects  were SU
TH Alterations Die just when you were thinking I hadn't used any TH products in this project - Oh yes I have...... LOL

In Fragments......

Compendium of Curiosities- Challenge 2# Fragments Basic

Linda has set Week 2 challenge over at Studio L3 from Tim Holtz Book A Compendium of Curiosities, I am really enjoying these challenges and looking at all the beautiful art that is being created.  As we don't know what order the challenges will be set I had a rummage through my TH stash to see what I would need I quickly made a list (not hard at all ) and ordered from The Artistic Stamper, super quick delivery meant I had my goodies before this challenge was posted and Yippee yes I had some fragments, also TH Paper Stack Retro Grunge and some Tissue Tape - isn't this fantastic tape!!!!  The challenge is to follow the technique in CC book (sorry can't share) Fragments Basic, so very reluctantly I cut - yes cut into my very new and very gorgeous TH papers - for this weeks entry.

I cut shape with my large labels Nestabilities Die from the papers which already have a distressed look and stamped  a with Rusty Hinge DI and Harlequin stamp - it is so much in the background you can hardly see it, then I stamped the main design in black, I added a piece of Tissue Tape (really really love it!) distressed with Wild Honey and attached a Fragment to highlight a word which just happened to be,  lol - De Chocolat it is spelt that way.

I stamped crown and small butterfly onto contrast paper from the page with small squares so I didn't have to cut into a large page - just couldn't do it!! I know how sad am I !!!!
I attached the Fragments, distressed the edges of page with Black DI . Page 2 of my book completed -wonder what next week will bring!! Roll on Monday - never before have I wanted Monday to come so quickly LOL.

I have not used Fragments before - don't know why not, but will be again, Thanks Linda for a great challenge and the push to try something different.
Stamps used TH Stampers Anonymous;Shabby French plate
DI Wild Honey and Rusty Hinge Black Versafine

Men!

A really quick post as I am off to take mom to the eye hospital for a checkup.  Tag Tuesday Challenge this week is Men! - well this got me scratching the old brain as I have very few men stamps then I thought of TH (Tim  Holtz) stamps and away to go. I know I'm using them a lot latlely must be a phase I'm going through lol.
I went along the men theme and will probably laminate later for DH and give it to him on Fathers Day to use as bookmark possibly.

Stamps used Tim Holtz Visual Artistry - The Journey, Background DI rusty hinge, barn door, vintage photo I think as I made background a while ago when I was having an inky day! Black velvet ribbon.  I stamped and embossed the car onto an old book page and ripped around, I left it hang over the tag as I think it looks more 3D that way.
Hope you like it have to dash will go on blog hop later and see all the other creations

Fathers Day

Two post in same day!! Last minute Fathers Day Card for DH (just in case the kids forget!!!!!!)  never.
I wanted to play with my new nesties last night so I made some background paper by crumpling up the card and using Tim Holtz DI's then I ironed them with my craft iron (only iron I use willingly LOL) so I could stamp on them.  I used Stampin' Up! Stamps and card.. then light bulb moment you know the kind; I thought I can combine this with the Challenge over at Sunday Stamper which this week is numbers which will save me time as I was wondering how I could enter and Hels has some great candy on offer be a shame to miss it.....

I distressed the edges of the creamy caramel card with SU distress tool and added black embossing powder; shapes were cut with Nesties labels five; stamp sets SU; baroque motifs; sense of time; occasional greetings; Inks SU creamy caramel; DI chipped saffire; vintage photo; faded jeans; pumic stone.

better go and make Fathers Day card for my grandson to give to daddy - it will have to appeal to grandson more than daddy lol scratching head for ideas better get a coffee..............

Needle and Thread

It has been a busy week as I said in my previous post so I won't ramble on about it here but I finished the ironing(boring) and then felt I could find some crafty time so ran into my room of craft and with time not being on my side and I made this quick tag for the Tag Your It challenge this week which is Needle & Thread.   The tag was cut from a background I had made previously with Tim Holtz Distress Inks, can't remember which ones but a mixture of the pinks I would think judging by the colour.
Have to say that these stamps were already on my desk so I didn' even look at anything else just used what was to hand for quickness so I stamped a flourish -Tim Holtz-onto the tag and then, following the flourish ,I stitched in linen thread. I used a stamp set from Stampin' Up! Vintage Vogue - just love this set- and stamped and distressed the small flower and also stamped a background flourish, the butterfly was from another Stampin' Up set which I stamped and then punched out with the matching punch.

I was pleased with the result sometimes things do come together in a rush lol.

I shall be joining in the June swap over at Tag Your It and will email for addy after I have posted this.

How does your Garden Grow?

Hi everyone

I haven't had much time for crafting over the last few days busy in the garden last week and at the weekend we were away for a dear friends 60th Birthday, and so far this week I am taxi for my mother's hospital and doctors appointments so I thought I would share with you some garden photos of my gorgeous Clematis which have been wonderful this year.  We also have a Mole in the garden and it is devastating the lawn will try and photo if the sun comes out - what a mess!!!  I love nature and wildlife but this mole is really trying my patience!

This pheasant is a daily visitor and gets up to such antics he makes me laugh, he is so cheeky and will even try to come in through the conservatory if the door is open, he usually brings 2 females with him who are not impressed by his showing off  - we girls are so hard to please!!! lol.  Hope you have enjoyed this incite into my other world I just love the wildlife we have here I am so lucky to live in the country.

If you do pop by please leave a comment to let me know I'm not alone out here in blogging land.

Will be back with some crafty photos soon - hopefully

Peeking Angel

I had a busy day in the garden yesterday and I should be there now plants to plant in our new borders before it gets too hot - so this is a quick post to show you the tag I made last night.  I couldn't resist the Tag challenge Heaven Sent over at Tag Your It  now I only have the choice of one angel stamp, well two really same angel in different poses, this tag developed as I went along and ended up very pink and sparkly which I don't often do so a bit different for me.  The main tag I made using Distress Inks and water, I then scrunched up the card while wet to give the look of hand made paper when dry - still had to do the distressing stuff - think I am addicted.  I embossed the angels in Gold and coloured using Cosmic Shimmer water colour paints, I added Cosmic twinkles to their wings......I Hope you like it.

Stamps used Judikins, Tim Holtz Distress Inks, Victorian Velvet, Spun Sugar, Cosmic Shimmer paints& Twinkles, rest from my stash.

I may pop back later with some photos of the garden maybe............

GC 56 Colour Challenge - Wall Hanging

Hope you all had a lovely BH weekend  I had a fabby day yesterday we (DH and me) decided to have a restful day it was nearly a pj day only we don't wear them (ok way to much information)!!! so old sloppy clothes were slipped on and off I went to my craft room - bliss, I got inky very inky and then inky some more not just my fingers but all over my pale pink teeshirt own fault should have put on a black one- but I had fun.  My inspiration was the theme at Gingersnap Creations GC56 Colour Challenge, burgundy, ivory and black which is one of my all time favourite colour combo's.  Now I have in my box of things to alter - oneday - a few clipboards not saying how many though :-)  so this was my base for this challenge.

Firstly I went all around the edges of the clipboard with Black Soot Distress Inks, the Bravo Burgundy background card was then put through my bigshot with a sizzix embossing plate, which I then distressed with Black Soot DI. I also stamped the flourish from Tim Holtz Visual Artistry Collection - Regal Flourishes and embossed in black. Nesties were used to cut the sentiment panel which I stamped from Tim Holtz collection Stampers Anonymous- Good Thoughts in Bravo Burgundy Stampin' Up! and inked edges, applied stickles glitter to the heart and butterflies - got to have sparkle! the heart shape and scallop square under sentiment panel were cut with the slice and inked with aged mahogany DI and stamped in black - stamps used were from Stampin' Up! solid stripes and AtoZ. Twill tape is also SU. Altered Tag Tim's Idea-ology, flowers were in my stash. The cream scalloped edge panel was stamped with another Tim Holtz set as above called French Market - yes I am obsessed with his stamps!!!! The punch was SU.

Close up view

Ingredients used were from Stampin' Up!, Tim Holtz, Slice, Bigshot and my stash!

I think I missed the deadline for the GC challenge Read which was my last post, as I forgot to post - silly me memory not what it was, so this morning I came in to finish this challenge off and post it in plenty of time, omg you should see my desk; looks like the naughty crafting fairy has been in while I slept -  lol, I would show you a piccy but.................
Hope you have a lovely day and thanks for stopping by to look - please leave a comment if you stop by I like to know you've been!!
