Whiter Shade of Pale

I love Tags and I have just come across Tag, your It and the theme this week is a whiter shade of pale, now I remember this song and loved it have been singing along as I made tag - I know sad!  Anyway here is my tag and I will definitely be back for the next tag challenge and looking forward to June when we can swap Whooo Hoo Love swaps.  I have used Tim Holtz Caged Bird Sizzix Die, Sizzix Tag die, Tim Holtz Distressed Ink Antique Linen .  I embossed the card with a cuttlebug folder and inked  lightly  over the embossed impression, same with the flower and added a diamond (not a real one, lol) brad.  Lastly I tied ribbon through the holes on cage die.  If you love tags pop over and take a look.

Bye for now

Tin Pan Alley

Here is my entry to the challenge for this month at Alter It Monthly - Tin Pan Alley
easy I thought - wrong!!! I collected my bits, used bbtin and raided DH workshop where it is forbidden to go and is scary, spiders lurk eeek! found some washers and wire and back to my craftyroom where my mind went blank.  As I am new to Altered Art I find it a scary place anyway,  lots of designs went out of the window - no not literally, but nearly lol; I finally came up with this Altered Item. I am please with the final result and it looks cheerful sitting in my craftyroom (on the untidy desk) but have hesitated to enter the challenge - we all have to start somewhere I'm thinking lol.so here it is

I inked the tin with Alcohol Inks using currant raisin and black; punched holes and set eylets around top in two layers and threaded wire around washers (forbidden booty DH workshop) and threaded through holes at top all the way around, the metal charm reads be true. Flowers were cut with my new die Tattered Florals Tim Holtz I just love it, I used foil sheets which I inked with Alcohol Inks I ran some through an embossing folder . I also made two from grungepaper and old book pages to give a different texture. Washers (forbidden booty) were used in the center of some, I also used brads and black snap fastners. I stuck the assembled flowers onto wire (forbidden booty) with sylicon glue and a circle of card stock.
Here is a  Close Up of Flowers.

Field of Poppies

I really really couldn't stop playing lol . Here is card number three using Tim Holtz Distress Inks for the background I spritzed onto craft sheet and draged card over you never know what you are going to get but was pleased with this which I thought looked a lot like a stormy summer ski I stamped the flowers in Coffee Archival Ink for a detailed look and coloured in the Poppies, distressed the edges and stamped the swirls onto creamy caramel card Stampin' Up! Flower stamps also SU.
This really is the last one moving onto the next challenge Kraft just love that colour sooooooo much see you then.

Meadow Flowers

Well once I started playing I couldn't stop you know how it is you just get in the zone, I was really enjoying playing with my distress inks and so with a few pages from an old book and my new colours dried marigold and crushed olive I made this easel card, I have also used peeled paint, wild honey and shabby shutters, this is stamped as a background fern and doesn't show up on the photo which is a shame the corner is stamped and embossed with distress embossing powder shabby shutters I love the texture of this stuff. Flowers are made from punching circles and distressing them with inks and perfect pearls. I will enter this card as my 2nd entry into the GC51 Botanical Challenge at Gingersnap Creations.

bye for now

Field of Flowers

After my last creative journey for the GC  found challenge; I had to enter DH workshop and I have only just recovered,  I decided that the GC51 Botanical  Challenge on Gingersnaps Creations was more in my comfort zone and no trips to scarry places!! lol.  So this card developed, and I mean developed, when I sat down to create I was thinking girly colours so I could use my new Distress Inks - 0oooooops somehow and don't ask me how; my crafty brain has a mind of it's own I ended up with these colours and this card.
I was pleased with the result but it was nothing like how I intended when I begain.  Oh well ART is a journey and we don't know where it will take us that is the journey.

I used Distress Inks for Background also for the smaller flowers. Black archival ink and clear embossing for dragonflies

I have made 2 others cards just couldn't stop will post them later I hope maybe even make another entry to the challenge!!!
Bye for now

Old Key Canvas

Wooo Hooo! I was chosen as a Gingersnap Gem  for my entry into the Good Earth Challenge at Gingersnap Creations. Thank you I am still grinning. :) :) Trophy in my sidebar.
I am loving these challenges, they are stretching my creativity as you would not believe but that's great, crafting out of my comfort zone is a good thing.... I think!!
Well the Gingersnap Creations challenge GC50 was to use  found objects; so off I went searching.  I decided to venture into DH workshop...... now we have a rule in this home of ours, he keeps out of my crafting space and I keep out of his workshop!! Enough said, anyway, after a rummage, he will never know I have been there as it is such a mess - organised he says.......mmmm now where have I heard that before......not me surely... about my crafting space ;-() Sorry I'm rambling.  I found some old keys and some garden twine lurking in a dark spider ridden corner  eeeeek I hate spiders, oh I do suffer for my art ! When I had recovered from that ordeal my crafty brain went into overload; eventually I decided on a canvas for my project.  Now this is the first time I have ventured into canvas land but I had great fun and here is my project.
Grungeboard swirl painted with brown acrylic paint which looked like leather when it had dried, I love it!!

My Found Item Old Key and Garden Twine (on key) Numbers Tim Holtz Stamps stamped onto inked background

Words Tim Holtz Stamps which I cut up and attached to card to look like writing on a wall, the wall card was embossed in big shot Sizzix plate and inked with Distress Inks, Flower was punched circles inked and scrunched up.

Phew long post and blogger not playing nicely! Off now to get well earned cup of tea, bye 'til next time
